Berkshire wins tough contest against Albany Academy, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Berkshire escaped with a 3-2 victory over Albany Academy.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Kevin Rooney secured the win for Berkshire with a goal in the third period.

Berkshire was led by Rooney, who had one goal. Rooney scored 5:46 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Berkshire. Brian Brown picked up the assist.

Berkshire stifled Albany Academy's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Berkshire also got a goal from Charlie Corcoran as well. In addition, Berkshire received assists from Quin Pompi, Greg Smart, Bryan Gerstenfeld, and Gus Harms, who each chipped in one.

Albany Academy did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Albany Academy was helped by Tyler Hynes, who registered one goal. Hynes scored 8:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Berkshire. Anthony Langevin provided the assist. Derek Barach also scored for Albany Academy. Other players who recorded assists for Albany Academy were Ryan Secor, who had one and Mark Knowlton, who had two.

Patrick Feeley recorded 26 saves for Berkshire. Berkshire incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Albany Academy's Alec Mansfield stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Albany Academy registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.

 

Kelley's hat trick boosts St. Sebastians over Kent, 6-3

Kent could not stop St. Sebastians' Tommy Kelley, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-3 win.

Kelley's first goal came 2:48 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:28 into the first and at 17:43 into the third.

St. Sebastians scored early and often, and held a 5-1 advantage after the first 20 minutes of play.

St. Sebastians also got points from Danny O Regan, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Cam Askew, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Stephen Brown also scored for St. Sebastians. Other players who recorded assists for St. Sebastians were Corey Ronan, who had two and Dalton McAfee, Brendan Burke, John Doherty, David Loughborough, and Jake McCarthy, who each chipped in one.

Kent's offense rang up 34 shots on St. Sebastians' net.

Kent was helped by Andrew Silard, who registered one goal. Silard scored 15:58 into the second period to make the score 5-3 St. Sebastians. Boo Nieves provided the assist. Kent additionally got points from Ryan Rosenthal, who also had one goal and one assist. Kent also got a goal from Mitchell Allen as well. More assists for Kent came via Nick Casacci and Danny Casey, who contributed one a piece.

Gordon Donnelly rejected 31 shots on goal for St. Sebastians. St. Sebastians incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Stephen Morrissey took the loss and made four saves before being replaced by Kevin Dluhy who made two saves. Kent incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
